Jacqueline Ion has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the Australian National University in the Australian Capital Territory. She commenced practice with Kelly & Co. in 1999 and became a partner of the firm in 2007. Jacqueline has an extensive practice in industrial law and family law. In the area of employment and industrial law, Jacqueline advises employers and employees in relation to a range of issues including Federal and State legislation, adverse action, employment contracts, workplace agreements, union involvement in the workplace, award application and interpretation, termination of employment, personnel procedures, occupational health and safety, and equal opportunity. Jacqueline has represented employers and employees in various forums including the South Australian Industrial Relations Commission, South Australian Industrial Relations Court, Fair Work Australia, Federal Court, Federal Magistrates' Court and South Australian Equal Opportunity Commission/Tribunal. Jacqueline has experience in all States and Territories, providing advice to clients nationally and appearing in proceedings interstate. Jacqueline’s clients operate in a number of different industry groups including wine and agriculture, mining and resources, professional services, financial services, labour-hire, medical research and practice, education and not-for-profit. Jacqueline is a qualified mediator and assists with the resolution of various disputes. In the area of Family Law, Jacqueline primarily provides assistance to those separating from their partners. Jacqueline provides advice in respect of the care arrangements for children, child support, property settlement and spousal maintenance. Jacqueline also prepares and advises clients in respect of financial agreements that may be required prior to, during or at the end of a relationship. |
