Luke has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Marketing and Management) from the University of Adelaide. Luke originally trained and worked at Kelly & Co. as a solicitor for a number of years before moving to the UK. He then spent 2 years in London working as an in-house lawyer for Nestle and as Head of Legal & Business Affairs for an international television production company. Luke returned to Kelly & Co. in 2005 and he became a partner in 2007. Luke practises in the areas of corporate and commercial law, with a particular focus on intellectual property law and brand protection, technology law, media and entertainment law and trade practices issues including franchising, competition and consumer protection. He has specific expertise in negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial documents, including licensing agreements, distribution agreements and technology transfer documentation. Luke is a member of the Law Society of South Australia, the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Licensing Executives Society. Luke has also been a member of the Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television (UK), the Producers Rights Agency (UK), the Trade Marks Patents and Designs Federation (UK) and the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (UK). |
