Peter Campbell obtained his Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Adelaide. Peter has 25 years experience as a litigator having conducted proceedings throughout Australia and overseas. He is an accredited mediator with LEADR. Peter acts for a number of major media organisations including television and radio networks and newspapers. He advises on the full range of media issues including defamation, contempt and broadcasting regulation and has been involved in many of the industry's most significant litigation matters. He also assists a number of advertising agencies with campaigns and related issues. Peter advises extensively on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights. He has substantial experience in handling infringement and opposition proceedings and technology transfer and commercialisation deals. Peter assists Arts and Entertainment clients with production, financing, distribution and contracting issues in the film, television, music, visual and performing arts and new media fields. Peter provides advice and assistance in the full range of matters under the Competition and Consumer Act (CCA) and other competition and consumer legislation. Peter has substantial expertise in conducting CCA proceedings as well as other procedures and the resolution of ACCC complaints and investigations. Peter regularly assists clients with trade practices training and the development and implementation of compliance programs. Peter is a committee member of many professional associations and industry bodies. He is a member of the Law Council of Australia's Media and Communications Committee, Competition and Consumer Committee, Intellectual Property Committee and Privacy Committee. Peter is also a member of the Steering Committee for UniSA's Trade Practices Workshop. Peter is a regular speaker and lecturer on Media, IP and Trade Practices issues. |
